Jennifer Durham – President
Jennifer was born in Washington DC and grew up in that surrounding area. She attended a private Christian college in Knoxville TN after graduating High School. She moved to Delaware in 1997 and is married to a native Delawarean and has two sons.
For the past 12 plus years she has been employed with the State of Delaware within the Finance and Business Department of DelDOT, Dept. of Correction and is currently the HR & Finance Manager at Providence Creek Academy. Since a very young age she was always volunteering through her local Church and community. She enjoys working in volunteer programs such as DAPI (Delaware Adolescent Program Inc.) where she has been a mentoring young ladies there going on three school years. She has also volunteered on political campaigns and serves as a founding board member of First State Military Academy in Clayton, Delaware.
In her “spare time” her hobbies include family time, reading self-development books, exercising, traveling, attending gala’s, dancing, fashion and make-up!
Amber Frushon – Vice President
Amber is a Delaware native and grew up in Smyrna, Delaware for majority of her life. She is a Smyrna High School graduate and a University of Delaware alumni. She currently works full-time as a Client Service Representative for National Corporate Research, Ltd. (NCR) in Dover, Delaware.
Amber is known for her charity work with the Smyrna Opera House and The Young Actors Guild, Inc., and now the Charitable Dames of Delaware! She enjoys giving back to her community that has given back to her so much in the past.
In her “spare time” Amber enjoys spending time family and friends. Her hobbies include enjoying the local dine/music scene, going to the beach, crafting, shopping, and watching tv in her pjs with a glass of wine!
Melissa Arnold Rhoads – Treasurer
Melissa was born and raised in West Virginia. She is a 2003 graduate of Wheeling Jesuit University and a 2006 graduate of Syracuse University College of Law. After spending two summers in Delaware working at a law clerk, Melissa decided to relocate to Delaware permanently upon graduation. She has lived in the Townsend area for the past 10 years.
Melissa is a shareholder of the law firm of Tighe & Cottrell, P.A., located in Wilmington. She is licensed to practice law in Delaware and Maryland. Her practice focuses primarily on insurance defense litigation, general civil litigation, business law, and estate planning.
Melissa enjoys giving back to the community and is known for her volunteer work with the Providence Creek Academy PTO, Smyrna-Clayton Soccer Club, and her service as a Board Member at Providence Creek Academy.
Melissa has two daughters, Emily is 8 and Avery is 4. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with family and friends, watch & attend sports events, attend concerts and just enjoy all that Delaware has to offer! She is a HUGE fan of the Syracuse Orange.
Christine Bell – Marketing Director
Christine Bell grew up in Newark, New Jersey and moved to Delaware in 2003 where she met her husband while they both worked at Bank of America (formally known as MBNA). She moved to Smyrna, Delaware in 2004 and quickly fell in love with the community’s “small town” feel.
Moving to Clayton, Delaware with her family in 2011, Christine has volunteered numerous hours in the community through her children’s sports activities. She has been team mom for her son’s indoor soccer, outdoor soccer and Pop Warner football team. Also an active parishioner at Saint Polycarps in Smyrna, where she has volunteered her time with the children’s religious education program.
Christine has been married to her husband, Shawn, since 2006 and has 2 children: Tannin (age 9) and Victoria (age 4). Christine and Shawn are excited to announce that they are expecting their third child in August of 2017. They are also proud parents of 4 dogs (Gwen, Marty, Dawkins & Piper), the family keeps quite busy with family activities and sports. The family, as a whole, are HUGE Philadelphia Eagles fans.
When Christine is not running from practices to school events and Charitable Dames meetings, she enjoys working on her side business, Party With A Bell. It’s a promotional and invitation printing and designing company. The company designs promotional posters for local businesses and well as custom made invitations for any occasion.
Courtney (Lane) Snyder – Public Relations
Courtney (Lane) Snyder was born and raised in Delaware. She has been a Smyrna/Clayton resident for her entire life.
Courtney graduated from Smyrna High School in 2012. She is currently the night-time disc jockey on Delaware’s Country Station 94.7 WDSD. Courtney has been working for WDSD for over 3 years, and in addition to her show which runs from 7 p.m., to midnight, she also broadcasts live from various locations and voices commercials.
Courtney interned at the Smyrna Opera House in 2013, working with communications and advertising. She is very excited to help the community once again by doing promotions for the Charitable Dames of Delaware.
In her free time, Courtney enjoys reading, spending time with her husband, and playing the clarinet.
